Philanthropic Planning & Governance

Charitable Planning for Individuals

Elias Sellitti LLC has extensive experience in New Jersey philanthropic planning and gift planning, helping clients achieve their philanthropic goals and helping them to build a lasting legacy and “pay it forward” to assist their favorite charities. We regularly advise clients how best to make the most appropriate charitable gifts for their individual situation during lifetime and at death.

When appropriate for and desired by a client, we integrate charitable trusts and deferred charitable gifts into our clients’ estate plans as vehicles to create a legacy for the client and the client’s family, as well as to reduce, if not eliminate, any estate and inheritance tax exposure on both the federal and state levels while generating additional immediate tax benefits.

Private Family Foundations

We assist clients in establishing and administering private family foundations, from organizing and registering the entity at the state level, to filing the application for tax-exempt status with the Internal Revenue Service, through counseling the foundation’s board and officers on administration of the foundation and preservation of its tax-exempt status.

Public Charity Representation

The firm advises public charities regarding their planned giving programs, drawing upon the tax expertise of both partners as well as the experience of Ms. Sellitti as a planned giving officer. We also serve as advisors to public charities regarding their interests as the residuary beneficiaries of trusts and estates, to ensure that the charity receives the full gift intended by the donor. We also serve as counsel to public charities regarding their general legal and tax needs.
